The India Department of Post has announced a new job opportunity and is looking for eligible candidates to join as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), Branch Postmasters (BPM), or Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPM) in branch post offices established in 2023.

The process for submitting applications online will begin on May 22 and will end on June 11.Candidates who have applied can make changes or corrections to their application forms from June 12 to June 14, 2023..

The GDS (Gramin Dak Sevak) receive emoluments in the form of time-related continuity allowance (TRCA) along with dearness allowance. The different categories of GDS receive different TRCA amounts, which are as follows:

For the position of BPM (Branch Postmaster), the salary ranges from Rs. 12,000/- to Rs. 29,380/-.For the position of ABPM (Assistant Branch Postmaster), the salary ranges from Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 24,470.

The age limits for these positions are as follows:Minimum age: 18 years,Maximum age: 40 years

To be eligible for the positions, candidates should have a pass certificate of the tenth class. This certificate should indicate that the candidate has passed in Mathematics and English, which were studied as compulsory or elective subjects.

Additionally, the candidate should have studied the local language (mention the specific local language) at least up to the secondary standard, either as a compulsory or elective subject.

  2. On the homepage, click on the “Register” button to generate your login details.
  3. Once you have your login details, fill out the application form with the required information.
  4. Upload the necessary documents as specified in the application.
  5. Proceed to pay the application fee as applicable.
